This week I had the pleasure of doing a Wordplay on the ever so polite, DJ Tactics. He was actually supposed to be featured like a month ago, but I completely forget, but it’s all good…here we go! Out of all the things that he has done, most probably know him as the DJ on 100.3 (THE BEAT) or Jay-Ski’s partner for the Pure Elementz Podcast. Besides this two accomplished efforts, Tactics also does a weekly live broadcast in New York for WBLS 107.5. While all that is good and well, I’m sure most of you wanna know if you can catch him spin out live sometime, and you are in luck, as he makes rounds around the tri-state clubs, including an October 6th event in Wilmington that also features the 49′ers, Side Effect, Gentle Jones and many more. Take a long lunch break this Wednesday (9/26) to head over to Love Park near City Hall (15th St. & Market) to check out Reef The Lost Cauze & DJ Skipmode doing a miniature Beats & Rhymes set. Concluding a Campus Philly Kick Off Press Conference with Mayor John Street and the city’s press! It all starts at 11:30am at Love Park with DJ Skipmode spinning until 1pm. The Campus Philly Kick Off is this Saturday from 2pm-7pm on the Ben Franklin Parkway w/Beats & Rhymes headlining the local stage right before Talib Kweli hits the main stage.

The 215’s coming strong in stores this Tuesday with TWO releases hitting the shelves. 1st up is AOTP’s “Ritual of Battle” with an In-Store this Tuesday at 7pm at FYE on Broad & Chestnut. The Roots recently said good bye to a 17yr. relationship with bass player Leonard “HUB” Hubbard on September 10th 2007. We at 215hiphop.com & fans across the world would like to acknowledge Hub’s talents and long commitment to one of Philly’s most influential hip hop groups as well as the world. He will be forever missed and we will keep you up to date of any future Hub stage sightings across the city.

So if you tuned into last nights game a ‘lil early on ESPN, you may have said to yourself “Wait, is this Reef The Lost Cauze playing?”. Well, it was! Reef’s single Sound Of Philadelphia Produced by King Magnetic was played during the Eagles highlights leading up to the kick off against the Washington Redskins, for the Eagles home game opener on Monday Night. We at 215hiphop.com would like to congratulate Reef & King Magnetic for getting onto national television, before getting on local FM radio!
